23CarriesJeanty supplied the game’s clearest fantasy foundation
Ashton Jeanty carried the Las Vegas offense as both its primary runner and its most productive scoring receiver. His receiving touchdowns turned a heavy-touch role into an elite PPR outcome, and the underlying involvement was just as encouraging: he handled a major share of the passing-game work while remaining the clear early-down engine. This was an opening-game statement of role as much as production.
02 / The takeaway
7TargetsLas Vegas won despite a volatile Cousins line
Kirk Cousins found the end zone often enough to support the win, but the passing line was not clean. The two interceptions limited the fantasy ceiling, while the concentrated short-area work for Jeanty and Michael Mayer gave the Raiders dependable outlets. For managers, the takeaway is that the scoring was real, but the broader passing attack still requires efficiency to become stable.
03 / The takeaway
8TargetsMiami’s volume belonged to Washington and Douglas, but pressure changed the game
Malik Washington and Caleb Douglas commanded Miami’s widest receiving opportunities, yet the offense could not convert that volume into a passing touchdown. Malik Willis faced persistent disruption, and Washington’s lost fumble compounded an otherwise meaningful role. Douglas emerged with the cleaner box score and the stronger efficiency case from the opener.
Raiders offense: Jeanty sets the terms
Las Vegas did not need a prolific yardage day from Cousins because Jeanty supplied answers in every phase. He converted a substantial rushing workload into efficient production, created additional value after contact, and caught every charted catchable opportunity sent his way. Crucially, the receiving work was not an incidental checkdown line: his route involvement and target rate support the notion that he was integral to the design. Mike Washington Jr. spelled him with productive rushing work, while Dylan Laube’s offensive usage was limited despite his contribution in the return game. Connor Heyward’s lone carry was a small situational note rather than evidence of a broader backfield claim.
